From Zero To 60,000 Orders Per Month (Distribution Bros Case Study)
Introduction
Distribution Bros is an online seller on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Shopify. They distribute consumer goods such as shampoo, soaps, face serums, body creams, and more to their customers. They operate in Irvine, CA through a 4000 square foot prep center and use third-party fulfillment warehouses to store their inventory.
Before Inventoryy
Before using Inventoryy, the company used spreadsheets to track purchase orders, invoices, and inventory. All processes were done manually and data was reentered each time a new order was completed. At the time, Distribution Bros operated out of a 1500 square foot warehouse with only 3 employees.
The start of Distribution Bros
The Challenge
The major challenge the company had was keeping track of incoming purchase orders and product costs. Within one year of inception, Distribution Bros grew to over 250 vendors and was receiving over 50 incoming purchase orders every week from various wholesalers and distributors. They needed a solution to keep track of what purchase orders they had not received and how much inventory they had in stock to ship to their fulfillment centers.
The Solution
Distribution Bros implemented Inventoryy into their warehouse to track their incoming purchase orders and current inventory levels. They created an internal product catalog with UPC barcodes to scan and process inventory quickly. The initial setup took less than 5 days to implement and train the additional employees they hired.
